This is the textbook chosen for my Art Appreciation class. I accept taken (and dropped) the course before and the previous textbook was the standard dull thing. I take to say that I'yard rather impressed by this book, enough so that I may not want to role with it at the terminate of the semester (even though I could utilise the money). It is aesthetically pleasing; it's sad how many fine art textbooks be that aren't. The chapters are amazingly to-the-point, without needless repetition, summarizations, or stop-of This is the textbook chosen for my Art Appreciation class. I accept taken (and dropped) the course before and the previous textbook was the standard dull matter. I take to say that I'm rather impressed past this book, enough and so that I may not want to part with it at the end of the semester (fifty-fifty though I could use the money). Information technology is aesthetically pleasing; information technology's sad how many art textbooks exist that aren't. The chapters are amazingly to-the-point, without needless repetition, summarizations, or finish-of-chapter questions. Equally a student, possibly I might discover such things of employ, merely unnecessary when the chapter itself is interesting plenty that I don't immediately seek out a shortcut. Fine art class required reading and I have to say it was very well written, engaging, and made this business major enjoy learning and reading nigh fine art.

I take worked with a lot of art history books, simply I had to attempt to teach from this one. Information technology has no order to information technology. It just flops whatever it wants in with whatever else. As an adjunct instructor I did not appreciate how it was structured at all. 2.v. I'yard existence generous with that.
And let's not forget all disciplines are required to take information technology. Some ppl aren't art ppl. Then why non start with cave drawings and build ... so and then in an interesting way...
anyhow. Not my favorite for instruction or reading. I accept worked with a lot of fine art history books, but I had to try to teach from this ane. It has no order to information technology. You'd think an art history book would have color, but everything in this is white 🤔

I have had zero fourth dimension for fun reads, information technology's trip planning and school. This is ane of the ones the gets looped into school. I gave it two stars considering I feel like I can't objectively say like "oh hey this is horrid and I hate it", even though, that would be a valid statement. It'southward very dry out, merely I'm not an art major, I have no pursuit in going further on art study than what I have to. I have my artists that I savour and those I stumble into but I don't make a hobby out of art history. Its a text volume so it isnt as entertaining equally some books might exist. All the same i did enjoy it and how they had sidebars about artists and movements that were key. Pictures of the art was great.

Fantabulous overview of techniques, styles, and periods.

This was actually a very good read, for a textbook. Information presented in a concise and easily absorbed manner. Swell pictures throughout!

Excellent basic text for art history, specially for someone unfamiliar with the area of written report.

Read for an intro to art college class. The form skipped a few chapters, but I really enjoyed this volume and this class.

This volume gives a condensed but great history of fine art. I enjoyed reading (and taking the class). Textbook. Skipped a few chapters not assigned.

Read this textbook for a higher Fine art History form. Some of the chapters drag on with so much info doping. Nonetheless this was nonetheless a practiced fine art book with clear images.

I had to used this book for my Fine art 100 class at #EssexCountyCollege. The pictures weren't large plenty. For a volume that is meant to help you appreciate art, the illustrations were gloomy, unclear and lacked whatsoever vibrance whatsoever. I, too, had to read this for school. I did not have to read cover to embrace but nigh 90-95% is a skillful estimate. My appreciation for art has grown from "this is really cool" to paragraph descriptions! I love fine art and I have thoroughly enjoyed this class. I, besides, had to read this for school.
